That describes Reynolds' approach at the plate; at 28 years old, he has managed at least 30 home runs and 175 strikeouts in three separate seasons, putting him only one behind Adam Dunn (4) and Ryan Howard (4) for the most in history. The problem, however, is that Reynolds' propensity for strikeouts puts him at huge batting-average risk; he has never batted higher than .260 in the four seasons in which he qualified for the batting title, and is a .238 lifetime hitter in the majors. In fact, history is against him: On 11 occasions, a player has whiffed 190 times, a number Reynolds has exceeded in four years straight years, and not once has one of those players batted higher than .268. Reynolds' power will have a place on any fantasy team, because in spite of his flaws he has the third most homers (111) and 20th most RBIs (273) in baseball the past three seasons combined.
