Upon his return he was more effective, posting a 4.29 ERA and 10.71 K/9 ratio, albeit with a steep platoon split that painted the picture of a LOOGY (Left-handed One Out GuY). McGee's potential is something greater than that; his mid-90s fastball/curveball combination, however, is lacking against right-handers.
