Rapid Reaction: Reds 7, Mets 4
WHAT IT MEANS: Matt Harvey, who once every five days gives Mets fans a reason to cheer, is not invincible. He remains unbeaten, though. Ike Davis, meanwhile, continues to draw the ire of Mets fans.

Murphy's Kind Of Town
From Elias: Daniel Murphy's tie-breaking home run in the eighth inning stood up as the game-winner as the Mets defeated the Cubs in Chicago. It was Murphy's second home run of the series and his fourth in his last four games at Wrigley Field. Over that span (since June 27, 2012), Murphy has hit four homers in 17 at-bats at Wrigley, compared to six home runs in 442 at-bats elsewhere.

One Hit May Have Turned Daniel Murphy's Fortunes Around
From Elias: Daniel Murphy went 4 for 4 with two doubles and a walk as the Mets posted a 5-2 win over the Cardinals and avoided being swept in their four-game series in St. Louis. It was only the second four-hit game by a Mets player this season, and the other one was also by Murphy, in New York's 16-5 win at Minnesota on April 12. Not very many days ago Murphy was in throes of a 17-at-bat hitless streak, but he ended that drought on Sunday with a double in his last at-bat as the Mets closed out a homestand. That one hit seems to have done wonders for Murphy's confidence as evidenced by the 10 hits in 16 at-bats (a .625 batting average), along with four doubles, that he registered in the Mets' four-game series against the Cardinals. But whatever magic formula Murphy discovered appears to be unknown to his teammates, who were a collective 18 for 116 (.155) with four doubles over the past four days.
