But a blistering start by Hosmer and a dismal month from Ka'aihue forced them to switch places, and the Hawaiian native was not heard from again until he was traded to Oakland in the offseason. Ka'aihue's patience has always been outstanding, but the rest of his game has failed to catch up. Perhaps since he fits so well with the A's philosophy, the change will do him good. There is a bit of a logjam at first base and DH in Oakland, with a bunch of warm bodies capable of filling either role, but Ka'aihue has an opportunity to grab one if he can make better contact while maintaining his stellar walk rate.","seasonId":2012,"date":"Wed Feb 15"},"playerRater30DAY":-0.8,"playerRater15DAY":-2.9,"positionRank":30}
