Plouffe An Unlikely Hero For Twins
From Elias: Trevor Plouffe's 11th-inning home run provided the winning margin in the Twins' 5-4 win at Milwaukee. Plouffe, who was batting .135 before connecting off Manny Parra, became the first player with a batting average that low (minimum: 70 AB) to hit an extra-inning, game-winning homer since the Yankees' Mike Hegan (.130) against the Washington Senators on September 1, 1967.

Morneau & Plouffe Take Fister Deep
From Elias: Justin Morneau and Trevor Plouffe hit back-to-back home runs off Doug Fister in the third inning and the Twins were never caught, posting a 4-3 win over the Tigers. Fister had allowed only two home runs is his previous 55.2 innings at Comerica Park, and he had allowed homers to consecutive batters only once before in his major-league career--to a different pair of Twins, Michael Cuddyer and Jason Kubel (May 31, 2010).
