Frazier's Blast Decides Pitchers' Duel In Cincinnati
From Elias: The Cubs and Reds have faced each other more than 2200 times over a span of 124 seasons. Sixty-four of those games finished with a 1-0 score, and only 11 of those were decided by a home run, including Wednesday's game at Great American Ball Park. Todd Frazier's solo blast in the sixth inning provided the edge for Cincinnati, as Mat Latos outdueled Jeff Samardzija. Latos earned only his third victory in 18 career starts in the month of April (3-8, 4.59 ERA). Among the other players who homered in those 1-0 games were Rogers Hornsby (1929), Phil Cavarretta (1934), and Ernie Banks (1957) for the Cubs, Ted Kluszewski (1951), Joe Morgan (1973), and Aaron Boone (2002) for the Reds.

Frazier And Cozart Make Reds History
From Elias: Todd Frazier and Zack Cozart each hit two home runs in the Reds' 15-0 win over the Nationals. It's the first time in Reds history (which goes back to the 1800s) that they had multiple-homer games by their starting shortstop and third baseman in the same game. Frazier and Cozart were the first starting shortstop-third base tandem to each go deep twice in a game for a National League team since the Pirates' Jackie Hernandez and Richie Hebner did that in 1971 for a Pittsburgh team that would go on to win the World Series.
