Bailey Vultures A Victory
From Elias: Andrew Bailey was unable to protect a 1-0 lead in the ninth. But Jonny Gomes hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the inning to make a winner of Bailey and give the Red Sox a sweep of their doubleheader against the Rays. Bailey (3-0) became the first pitcher this season to record a pair of "vultured victories" -- wins in which he was charged with a blown save. Bailey had only one such win in three seasons with A's.
