White Sox' Catcher Starts The Season With A Bang
From Elias: Tyler Flowers hit one of four home runs for the White Sox in the team's 5-3 win over the Royals on Wednesday afternoon. Flowers has homered in each of the first two games Chicago has played this season. Only one other White Sox catcher has gone deep in each of the team's first two games of a season: Sherm Lollar in 1958. Prior to Flowers, the last major league catcher to do that was Atlanta's Brian McCann in 2007.

Flowers became just the fourth player in major-league history to hit a home run in a 1-0 game in a season opener. The other players to do that were Bob Bailey for the Pirates in 1965, Frank Fernandez for the Yankees in 1968 and Gary Sheffield for the Dodgers in 2001.
