Latos Makes The Most Of His Time On The Mound
From Elias: Mat Latos struck out 11 batters in six innings in the Reds' 5-0 win at Pittsburgh. Latos was the fifth pitcher this season to register 11 or more strikeouts in an outing of no more than six innings (joining Max Scherzer, James Shields, Erik Bedard and Yu Darvish). Over the past two years (2010-11) the only pitcher to do that this early in a season (through games of May 6) was the Dodgers' Charlie Haeger (12 strikeouts in six innings at Florida on April 11, 2010).
