Fister Knocked Around But His Streak Of Homerless Innings Survives
From Elias: Doug Fister allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings without allowing a home run in the Tigers' Sunday night showcase at Texas. Fister extended his streak of consecutive homerless innings to 49 2/3, and in the process he overtook Jake Westbrook (45 1/3) for the longest current streak of consecutive innings without allowing a home run for any starting pitcher. Fister had allowed five home runs in nine innings over his two previous games at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington.
