Last season, he swung at only 20.4 percent of pitches outside the strike zone, more than 8 percent beneath the league average (28.5 percent), and he walked 10.6 percent of the time, ranking him in the 79th percentile among all major leaguers. Ackley did struggle versus left-handers, managing but .224/.287/.365 rates against them, and those numbers might limit his prospects of a massive breakout. But he's considered one of the better youngsters in the game, he should only improve his hitting skills with experience and he's a second baseman, one of the tougher positions to fill in fantasy.
