As Nova relies on his defense, and specifically his infield D, due to a 53.2 percent ground ball rate, it's understandable if you're worried about regression in terms of his ERA and WHIP. After all, the Yankees have two aging defenders on the left side in Alex Rodriguez and Derek Jeter, meaning Nova will need to increase his number of swings and misses at an inverse rate to his fielders' decline. He's a pitcher who, at least at this stage of his career, is more matchups than ride-every-time option.
