Going strictly by 2011 performance, Guerra deserves first crack, though Dodgers brass hinted during the winter that it'd be an open competition including flame-throwing Kenley Jansen. Guerra paced all Dodgers relievers in saves (21), and while he didn't possess elite swing-and-miss stuff -- something Jansen has -- he was 17-for-19 in save chances with a 2.30 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 28 second-half appearances in the role. We'll see this spring whether past results equal future opportunities, but Guerra's vastly improved ability to spot his pitches in the majors -- be aware that his career minor league walks per nine was 5.23, well north of his rookie-year 3.47 for the Dodgers -- explains his success. He'll need to maintain it during his sophomore year to cling to the job for 162 games, but he certainly might get the opportunity to do so.","seasonId":2012,"date":"Fri Feb 10"},"playerRater30DAY":0.3,"playerRater15DAY":0.9,"positionRank":23}
