A precipitous drop in his strikeout rate was largely responsible for that; after averaging 7.13 K's per nine innings in 17 starts at the Double-A level in 2011, he averaged 6.37 per nine in 18 starts in Triple-A in 2011-12, then 5.85 per nine in the majors in 2011 and 2012. Clearly Turner is a work in progress, with the biggest positives being that the Marlins should be patient with him, he calls a pitcher-friendly ballpark his home and scouts previously saw middle-of-the-rotation potential in him. He's the kind of pitcher who could be better than what we saw in 2012, but whom we'll make prove it before significantly investing. This is the kind of pick for NL-only owners to make late while speculating; he's difficult to trust as anything more.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Wed Feb 20"}}
