Mckenry, Slaught And Burgess
Michael McKenry led off the Pirates' four-run seventh inning with a home run and he added a two-run shot in their six-run eighth to lead the Bucs to a 10-7 come-from-behind win against the Reds. McKenry is the third Pirates catcher in the expansion era (1961 to date) to homer in consecutive innings of a game. Don Slaught did it in the fifth and sixth innings of a 10-9 win at Cincinnati in the first of two games on July 2, 1993, and Smoky Burgess homered in the seventh and eighth innings of a 17-7 win at St. Louis on June 30, 1962.
