Davis Comes Through In The Clutch
From Elias: Ike Davis began the day on Sunday with a .148 batting average, the lowest among major-league qualifiers (three points lower than B.J. Upton's .151 mark), and hitless in his last 26 at-bats with runners in scoring position (the longest current streak of its kind in the majors). But Davis went 2-for-3 against the Braves on Sunday night to raise his average to .158, while Upton went 0-for-3 to drop his average to .148 (ten points lower than Davis's). More importantly, Davis ended his drought with runners in scoring position by delivering a bases-loaded two-run single in the eighth inning that snapped a 2-2 tie in the Mets' 4-2 win.
