Speed is his game, but his rivals anyone's. The problem, however, is that he's one of the least threatening hitters in all of baseball. During his minor league career, his isolated power was .085, and among players with 200-plus plate appearances in the majors last year, his .121 well-hit average (the measure of a hitter's ability to produce hard contact) was third-worst. Gordon also has poor strike-zone judgment; he chased pitches out of the strike zone ninth-most often of anyone with 200-plus plate appearances and walked in only 3.0 percent of his PAs. Those are trends that, in the worst-case scenario, could result in a benching or demotion to the minors. But Gordon's stolen-base upside is massive; even if he gets on base at a mere .300 clip, he has the ability to swipe you 50 bases.
