Hefner's Unlikely Win In The Bronx
From Elias: Jeremy Hefner, who entered Wednesday with a 0-5 record in nine starts this season, allowed three runs in six innings to earn the win in the Mets' 9-4 victory at Yankee Stadium. Hefner is the third starting pitcher ever to beat the Yankees in the Bronx after having gone winless while making least nine previous starts that year. Ted Gray (0-9 in 10 starts) of the Tigers won at the old Yankee Stadium in 1953, as did Scott Elarton (0-5 in 10 starts) for the Royals in 2006.

Phillies Rough Up Hefner Again
The Phillies' first six batters reached base safely (via hit, walk or HBP) against Jeremy Hefner Wednesday night. In Hefner's last game against Philadelphia, last September 20, he faced seven batters and they all reached base safely. Philadelphia's streak of 13 consecutive batters reaching base safely against Hefner is the longest streak by any team against any pitcher since 13 straight Mariners batters reached base safely via hit, walk or hit by pitch against Toronto's Dave Lemanczyk over three games in 1978.
