Harrison Breaks Up No-hitter
From Elias: Josh Harrison's single off Justin Verlander with one out in the ninth inning was the Pirates' first hit of the game. Pittsburgh has not been no-hit since Aug. 14, 1971, when Bob Gibson blanked them at Three Rivers Stadium. The only major-league teams that have currently gone longer without being victims of a no-hitter are the Reds (since Rick Wise no-hit them in June 1971) and the Cubs (since Sandy Koufax's perfect game in 1965). Harrison's hit came on a 1-2 pitch after he had been behind in the count, 0-2. Prior to that at-bat, opponents were 3-for-36 (.083) with 21 strikeouts against Verlander this season after falling behind in the count, 0-2.

Pirates Prevail In Extra Innings At Pittsburgh
From Elias: Josh Harrison's 12th-inning single gave the Pirates a 3-2 win over the Astros after Pedro Alvarez knotted the game with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth. The Pirates have won their last six home games that went to extra-innings (since June 3, 2011). It's the longest current winning streak of its kind for any major-league team and it matches the longest such streak for the Pirates over the last 35 years (1978 to date).
