He is likely to open the 2014 season in Houston's starting rotation after a solid debut campaign in the big leagues.","date":"Tue Sep 10"},"fullName":"Jarred Cosart","seasonOutlook":{"outlook":"While the 22-year-old Cosart, who made his way up to Triple-A at the end of 2012, would benefit from at least a half season more in the minors, the Astros' rotation is so wide open, the right-hander might be needed sooner. In fact, there's a chance he could crack the five-man out of camp, and general manager Jeff Luhnow has even mentioned the possibility of using Cosart as a closer. (Oh yeah, the ninth inning is wide open, too, after Wilton Lopez was dealt.) That may actually be Cosart's best path to fantasy impact in 2013, as his mid-90s fastball and tight curve would play up in short stints, and Cosart could contribute in both strikeouts and saves. As a starter, though, he's less appealing because he never quite has missed as many bats as his stuff suggests (7.5 strikeouts per nine innings), and Houston, of course, joins the tougher league (for pitchers). Track him this spring.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Wed Feb 20"},"playerRater30DAY":-2,"positionRank":138}
