Though considered a good-not-great prospect during his Dodgers days -- he was Keith Law's No. 79 prospect overall entering 2012 -- Eovaldi suffered the same problems he did in the minors: He averaged 3.54 walks per nine innings in 22 turns for both teams in 2012, comparable to his 3.67 career minor league rate, and he surrendered .318/.381/.464 rates to left-handed hitters, continuing to show he lacked an \"out\" pitch for that side. Eovaldi has major adjustments to make to elevate himself above a late-round, roster-filler NL-only level, at best being useful when he faces his most favorable matchups.
