Pierzynski Homers And Triples In White Sox Win

From Elias: A.J. Pierzynski had a home run and a triple and drove in two runs to help lead the White Sox to a 9-3 victory over the Indians on Friday night. Over the last 54 years, only three other White Sox catchers have had a triple and a homer in the same game: Josh Paul on April 24, 2000 against the Orioles, Carlton Fisk on May 16, 1984 against the Royals and Brian Downing on April 21, 1974 against the Royals.

Pierzynski is second in the major leagues this season in home runs as a catcher, behind Matt Wieters, who has six.
