From Elias: Carlos Beltran doubled with two outs in the seventh inning to break up A.J. Burnett's no hitter in the Pirates 5-0 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday night. It marked the fifth time that Burnett took a no-hitter into the seventh inning in his career, having previously done that with the Marlins on May 12, 2001 -- a night in which he completed the no hitter -- and Sept. 20, 2005, with the Yankees on April 14, 2009 and as a member of the Pirates on July 31, 2012. Only five other active pitchers have held teams hitless through six innings as many as five times: Derek Lowe (6), Mark Buehrle (5), Matt Cain (5), Ted Lilly (5) and Justin Verlander (5).
