7-8-9 Hitters Power The Red Sox To A Win Over The Orioles
From Elias: Daniel Nava, Scott Podsednik and Kelly Shoppach, the Red Sox' 7-8-9 hitters, each hit a home run in Boston's 6-5 win at Baltimore. It was the first time this season a major-league team had home runs in one game from its starters in the seventh, eighth and ninth slots. Before Wednesday, the Red Sox had not had a game in which they got home runs from each of the starters in the bottom third of their batting order since Aug. 3, 2003, also at Camden Yards, when Trot Nixon, Bill Mueller and Doug Mirabelli all went deep in a 7-5 Boston victory over the Orioles.
