Buehrle Dominates The Rangers Again
Mark Buehrle tossed seven scoreless innings as the Blue Jays picked up run after run until when it was all said and done, Toronto had an 8-0 victory over the Rangers in Arlington. The game came just six days after Buehrle had no decision in a Blue Jays' victory in which he limited Texas to one run over seven innings in Toronto. Buehrle now possesses a 13-5 (.722) won-lost record and a 3.14 ERA against the Rangers; since the franchise was re-located from Washington to Texas in 1972, only three other pitchers have as high a winning percentage and as low an ERA (minimum: 15 decisions) against the Rangers. Frank Viola was 16-5 (.762) with a 2.09 ERA; Mike Boddicker was also 16-5, with a 2.78 ERA; and David Cone was 12-3 with a 2.90 ERA.

Wells And Buehrle Have Changed Uniforms But Not Results
From Elias: Vernon Wells went 2-for-3, including a home run, against Mark Buehrle and the Yankees went on to annex a 5-3 victory in 11 innings at Toronto. Wells has been feasting on Buehrle for years; he now has 23 hits in 47 at-bats against the veteran lefty, a .489 batting average. Among active players who have faced each other for a minimum of 40 at-bats, there are only two higher this-batter-vs.-that-pitcher batting averages: Carlos Beltran has batted .548 (23 for 42) against Kyle Lohse and Matt Holliday has hit an even .500 (20 for 40) against Derek Lowe. (Lance Berkman, like Wells against Buehrle, is also 23 for 47 against Jason Marquis.)

Buehrle Faces White Sox
From Elias: Mark Buehrle made his first career start against the White Sox, a team for which he won 161 games, before leaving as a free agent after the 2011 season. Buehrle is only the second pitcher to start against the White Sox after winning as many as 100 games for them prior to that start. Frank Smith went 108-80 for the Pale Hose from 1904 to 1910 before facing them for the first time on August 31, 1910. Smith tossed a complete game for the Red Sox in that game, an 8-0 Boston loss.

MLB - Feeling blue in Toronto
The Blue Jays added R.A. Dickey, Mark Buehrle and Josh Johnson in the offseason, and were supposed to have a stacked rotation this year. But with Josh Johnson failing to get out of the second inning today, the trio has yet to win and combined to post a 9.76 ERA in six starts.
