He can no longer hit lefties (.190/.227/.190 rates last season), painting the picture of a platoon mate you'll want to spot out in a daily league. His defense is only getting worse, and as his speed gradually slows, he'll be unable to leg out the volume of infield hits necessary to drive his batting average into helpful fantasy territory. Buying today's Pierre means investing in one category -- steals -- and maybe runs, based on lineup spot.
