Cubs Deal Zambrano To The Marlins
From Elias: Carlos Zambrano was traded to the Miami Marlins on Thursday after posting a 9-7 mark for the Cubs in 2011, his ninth consecutive season with a winning record. Only Tim Hudson (13 years) and CC Sabathia (11) have current streaks of consecutive winning seasons as long as Zambrano's, whose streak was the longest of its kind in Cubs history. Zambrano homered in each of the past nine seasons. That matches the longest streak by a pitcher during the expansion era. The only other pitcher with a nine-year home-run streak since 1961 was Gary Peters (for the White Sox and Red Sox from 1963 through 1971).
