The Yankees, presumably recalling his .322 batting average in 67 games following his July acquisition, re-upped him to a generous two-year, $13 million deal, but fantasy owners shouldn't necessarily follow suit. Drafting Ichiro in many ways is chasing volume; he routinely ranks among the majors' leaders in plate appearances, driving his counting stats, and much of the reason is his top-third-of-the-order lineup status, which he might well possess again in 2013. Now, Yankee Stadium did boost his power slightly, to the point where double-digit homers are possible, and Ichiro, while a step slower at age 39, still is capable of stealing as many as 30 bags. There's rotisserie-league value here. But the days of Ichiro being in the conversation for top-50 overall status are likely behind him, he's terribly overrated in leagues that use on-base percentage rather than batting average, and he possesses a batting average/steals downside that we've rarely seen previously in his career.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Wed Feb 20"},"playerRater30DAY":1.9,"playerRater15DAY":0.9,"positionRank":78}
