Pitching Keys Another Home Win For Rays

From Elias: The Rays' 2-1 victory over the Red Sox improved their home record to 14-3, best in the majors, and lowered their home ERA to 2.55, best in the American League. Jeremy Hellickson, the winning pitcher on Wednesday night, is now 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA in five home starts this season. He was supported by an inning of scoreless relief from each of three relief pitchers--Jake McGee, Joel Peralta and Fernando Rodney. Rays relievers have an ERA of 1.71 and have held opponents to a .176 batting average in St. Petersburg this season.

Shields Wins, Rodney Saves

From Elias: The Orioles scored runs in the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth innings, but their comeback fell short when Fernando Rodney shut the door in the bottom of the ninth to secure James Shields' sixth victory of the season. Rodney has notched a save in four of Shields' wins this season, the most for any pitcher in victories by a particular teammate.
