It was a huge game, but he has just three homers on the season, he is still hitting just .241, and he has just four RBI on the year. With limited at bats, his fantasy value is severely limited.","date":"Fri Apr 26"},"fullName":"David Ross","seasonOutlook":{"outlook":"Ross' signing to a two-year deal by the Red Sox this winter might have seemed a curious one, considering their surplus of catchers on the roster. But considering he's the most complete of the bunch -- Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Mike Napoli (who is ticketed for first base) and Ryan Lavarnway are not good defenders behind the plate -- Ross' addition as a backup makes a lot more sense. He's actually a good partner for Saltalamacchia, because he hits lefties well -- a weakness of Saltalamacchia's -- and is a good enough player against righties to serve as a late-inning defensive replacement and occasional fill-in against that side. Ross' power contributions are enough to make him a worthy AL-only No. 2 catcher, and he's better in batting average than you think: .269 the past four years combined.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Thu Feb 21"},"playerRater30DAY":-1.2,"playerRater15DAY":-0.6,"positionRank":25}
