He's actually a player with a shot at exceeding his 2012 output, even if his power suffers slightly. He should be healthier, with a full season in the books following a 2011 entirely lost to a broken leg, meaning he could see as many as 100 additional trips to the plate. In conjunction, he walked more, made consistently more hard contact and drove the ball with greater authority after the All-Star break last year. Morales' counting numbers (runs/RBIs) might suffer in a weaker Mariners lineup than Angels lineup, but more plate appearances could entirely suffer all these negatives.
