Cano Ties Gordon
From Elias: Robinson Cano hit two two-run home runs in the Yankees' 7-2 home win over the Blue Jays. It was Cano's 12th career game with at least two homers, all of which have come as a second baseman. That ties the franchise record for multi-homer games by a second sacker. Hall-of-Famer Joe Gordon also had 12 between 1938 and 1946. Six of Cano's 12 games with 2+ home runs have come at the current Yankee Stadium. That equals the number of multi-homer games accounted for by home-team second basemen in the last 70 seasons that the Bombers played at the "Old" Yankee Stadium (four by Gordon, one by Willie Randolph in 1985, and one by Cano himself in 2007).

MLB- Cano multi-hr as Yankees 2B
From Elias: Robinson Cano: 12 multi-HR games have all come as a 2nd baseman. That't tied for most by a Yankees 2nd baseman in Yankees HISTORY -- Joe Gordon also had 12 (he had 13 total, 12 coming when he played 2nd base).

Yankees Pick On A Favorite Victim
From Elias: Robinson Cano and Vernon Wells hit back-to-back home runs against Ervin Santana on Sunday. It's the fifth straight start against the Yankees in which Santana has allowed multiple home runs, tying the longest current streak by any active pitcher against any team. Chad Durbin has allowed multiple homers in each of his last five starts against Cleveland, although he hasn't started against the Indians since 2007 (perhaps with good reason).

Cano Reaches Milestone
From Elias: Robinson Cano reached 1500 hits eight years and six days after his major-league debut on May 3, 2005. That is the shortest span from a player's first big-league game to 1500 hits for the Yankees. Derek Jeter had the previous record, doing so in eight years and 79 days. The only active players who made it to that milestone more quickly than Cano -- in terms of days after their first career game -- are Ichiro, Albert Pujols and Juan Pierre. Cano's third-inning infield single on Thursday night was his 1500th hit and his fifth-inning solo home run provided the insurance in the Yankees' 3-1 win over the Rockies. It's the second time this season that Cano produced both a home run and an infield hit in the same game; he also did so last month against the Rays. That already ties his most homer-and-an-infield hit games in one season with the Yankees (he had two in 2009 and in 2012).
