Braves Hit Three Homers With Men On Base
From Elias: Brian McCann, Jason Heyward and Freddie Freeman each hit a two-run homer for the Braves in their 7-2 win over the Pirates. It was Atlanta's major-league-high 13th game with three or more home runs this season, but it was only the second time in the last four seasons that the Braves hit three homers with runners on base in one game. Their only other such game since 2010 was a 14-6 win against the Mets at Turner Field on April 18, 2012, with Juan Francisco, Dan Uggla and Freeman all slugging two-run homers against the man who went on to win the N.L. Cy Young Award, R.A. Dickey.

Mccann Lives Up To His Title
Brian McCann hit two home runs on Tuesday, including a game-winning shot in the 10th inning, in Atlanta's win in Toronto. McCann is the first National League designated hitter to have a multiple-homer game this season. Only one NL DH did that in 2012 (Alfonso Soriano) and 2011 (Lance Berkman) and no one did it in 2010. McCann is the first Braves player to hit two or more homers in a game as a designated hitter.
