A breakout season is one in which the player performs at a level he had not previously attained in his career. While it is true that, in total, Francoeur had yet to have a season the quality of 2011, he had displayed aspects of the campaign previously. This was just the first time it all came together during the same season. It had been a few years, but Francoeur's 20 homers were bested by his 29 bombs in 2006. His .285 average looks great when compared to 2010's .249, but considering he hit .280 in '09 and .293 in '07, it is nothing he had not done before. That said, Frenchy's 22 steals were by far a career high and are more a result of managerial tendencies than anything. The point is, all Francoeur did was perform at the top of his probability curve in all areas. While he is capable of doing it again, a repeat of all the aspects is improbable and regression in at least one area -- likely average -- should be expected.","seasonId":2012,"date":"Fri Feb 10"},"playerRater30DAY":3.7,"playerRater15DAY":6.5,"positionRank":62}
