If you're willing to forgive him those ninth-inning missteps, he has been one of the most productive middle relievers in baseball the past three seasons. He had the most appearances of anyone during that span (231), plus a 2.47 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and, perhaps most importantly, 78 holds, fifth best in the game. There are few middle relievers in the game with greater ability to bolster your ERA/WHIP/K's, but Marshall shouldn't be instantly assumed to be next in line for saves.
