If he does the same this season, he has an opportunity to shatter his career high of 71 runs scored now that the Angels have secured the services of Albert Pujols. In order to insure his place at the top of the order, it would help if Aybar could coax walks at better than his career 5.1 percent rate, though an 86.8 percent contact rate helps mitigate this. In lieu of walking more, if Aybar could hit the ball on the ground more, he would likely get more hits, as he has almost no power yet hits more balls in the air than someone should with his contact rate and speed. Speaking of speed, it is Aybar's stolen base ability that puts him in the middle of the shortstop pack. You will need to account for his paucity of power, but if you need steals and some runs, Aybar will help while hitting for an average that will, at worst, not hurt you.","seasonId":2012,"date":"Mon Feb 27"},"playerRater30DAY":-1.9,"playerRater15DAY":0.2,"positionRank":32}
