SAN FRANCISCO -- Left fielder Matt Holliday has been scratched from the St. Louis Cardinals' lineup because of lower back tightness just before Game 6 of the NL championship series against the San Francisco Giants.
Allen Craig shifted from first base to left field and is batting fourth Sunday night. Matt Carpenter will play first and bat second, while right fielder Carlos Beltran slides back a spot to third in the order.
Holliday is batting .222 with one home run and seven RBIs in the postseason.
In Game 2 at San Francisco, Holliday slid hard and late into second baseman Marco Scutaro. Scutaro injured his left hip but has played in every game since.
