Power Rankings: Dodgers hold off Yanks for No. 1

Week:

ESPN.com

Once again, the Los Angeles Dodgers are dead even with another team in the MLB Power Rankings. And once again, it's a team from the powerful American League East.

Yet this time, it's the New York Yankees, not the Boston Red Sox, who are trying to nudge their way into the top spot in the Power Rankings. In the voting of our Power Rankings panel, the Dodgers and the Yankees finished with the same number of overall points, yet the Dodgers won the tiebreaker for the second straight week. They ended up with more first-place votes than the Yankees to earn the No. 1 ranking for a record 11 straight weeks.

The Red Sox fell behind the Yankees, as they have in the AL East, to the No. 3 spot, followed by the Los Angeles Angels and the Philadelphia Phillies to round out the top five. One of our panelists, Enrique Rojas of ESPNDeportes.com, wrote the comments below. Meanwhile, you can rank the teams yourself.

Tune in to "Baseball Tonight" every Monday on ESPN to see the week's U.S. Army Power Rankings. The Atlanta Braves are the U.S. Army Team of the Week because they made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving up four spots to No. 13.
