Sound off on the Angels

Only a few pieces remain from the Angels squad that won the World Series in 2002, but they are key parts. The usual suspects -- Vlad Guerrero, Garret Anderson, John Lackey and K-Rod -- haven't lost their edge. Manager Mike Scioscia is as aggressive as ever.

The young talent adds a new dimension. First baseman Casey Kotchman, second baseman Howie Kendrick and catcher Mike Napoli are all successful products of the Angels' farm system. Expect them to step up this year.

Jered Weaver (11-2, 2.56 ERA) provided a glimpse of his talent as a rookie last season. He's already been hit by the sophomore jinx, but once he shakes his arm troubles and comes off the DL, look for him to have another stellar campaign.

With Bartolo Colon still recovering from a rotator-cuff tear, the Halos will be short-handed to open the season. But offseason acquisition Justin Speier will strengthen the bullpen, and the relief corps should ease the load.

Are the Angels the favorite to win the AL West? Will the injuries come back to haunt them? Let us know what you think.
