PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- A great doubleheader for Rob Mackowiak
gave Craig Wilson the chance to be a hero.

Mackowiak hit a tying two-run homer in the ninth inning and
Wilson won it with a blast in the 10th as the Pittsburgh Pirates
completed a doubleheader sweep of the Chicago Cubs with a 5-4

Mackowiak was the hero of the first game, belting a grand slam
in the bottom of the ninth inning off Cubs closer Joe Borowski
for a 9-5 victory. However, that was just the first of two
celebrations for Pittsburgh.

Chicago took a 4-2 lead into the ninth inning of the nightcap
and turned to LaTroy Hawkins. Pinch hitter Tike Redman drew a
leadoff walk before Mackowiak blasted his 10th homer to tie it
as Hawkins suffered his second blown save.

Cubs reliever Francis Beltran (1-1) threw just one pitch in the
bottom of the 10th and Wilson hammered it to the opposite field
for his 11th homer.

Pittsburgh reliever Mike Gonzalez (2-0) pitched a perfect 10th
inning for the victory. The Pirates improved to 8-13 at home,
winning consecutive games at PNC Park for just the second time.

Chicago lost its season-high fourth straight and fell to 3-4 in
extra-inning contests.
