• Summary: The Toronto Blue Jays handed San Francisco rookie sensation Tim Lincecum his first major league loss and avoided a three-game sweep.

The right-hander was tagged for seven runs and seven hits. • Hero: Dustin McGowan won his third straight decision and also added a single. McGowan struck out six in six innings as Toronto won in San Francisco for the first time in six tries. • Unsung heroes: Aaron Hill had a two-run single in Toronto's five-run fourth inning and Matt Stairs added two RBIs. • Bonds watch: Barry Bonds, who hit his 747th home run Monday night, pinch hit and struck out with a runner on second for the game's final out. • Quotable: "My dad said, 'Don't ever show emotion,' and I did today." -- Lincecum -- ESPN.com news services |
