OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Mark Ellis figured his 12th-inning drive would stay fair, then thought again as it took a sharp hook to the left. Everything turned out just fine for Oakland, though.
Ellis hit a two-out grand slam Sunday, lifting the Athletics to a 7-3 victory that snapped the Los Angeles Angels' season-best seven-game winning streak."Off the bat I thought I got it, then it took a hard left and I wasn't sure," Ellis said. A year after hitting a career-high 19 home runs, A's second baseman Mark Ellis has shown a flare for the dramatic home run this season. Ellis has hit two walk-off grand slams, roughly a month apart.
