SAN FRANCISCO -- Edgar Renteria believes San Francisco has a good shot to make the playoffs this season. The veteran shortstop is doing his part to get the Giants there.
Renteria hit a two-run home run in the eighth inning, three batters after Juan Uribe's tie-breaking solo shot, helping San Francisco beat the Florida Marlins 6-4 on Tuesday night.Fast Facts

• Florida Marlins starter Josh Johnson allowed more than two earned runs for the first time since May 8, a stretch of 13 starts.
• The Giants have won 12 of their last 15 games.
