Game notes
Huff is 0-3 in his career against the Angels. ... Bourjos' triple snapped an 0-for-11 slump since he came off the disabled list. ... RHP Justin Germano, who opened the season in the Indians' bullpen, threw a perfect game Tuesday night for Triple-A Columbus. It was his first win since being sent outright to the Clippers. He struck out seven. ... The last no-hitter against the Indians in Cleveland was Toronto's Dave Stieb on Sept. 2, 1990. This was the 12th no-hitter overall against the Indians. ... The last non-shutout no-hitter in the majors was by Houston's Darryl Kile against the New York Mets on Sept. 8, 1993. ... The Angels do not officially get credit for holding the Los Angeles Dodgers hitless for eight innings in a 1-0 loss at Dodger Stadium on June 28, 2008. Jered Weaver went six innings and Jose Arredondo went two innings. ... This was Santana's 11th career complete game, including two this season.

Research Notes
Ervin Santana threw the 3rd no-hitter this season joining fellow Dominican Republic countryman Francisco Liriano and Justin Verlander. Both Liriano and Santana broke into the majors in 2005 and own 6-8 records this season. Not only did these 2 players throw no-hitters this season against AL Central teams, but they were born in the same hometown. [+]TALE OF THE TAPE - FRANCISCO LIRIANO vs ERVIN SANTANA

Ervin Santana's first MLB start came on May 17, 2005 at Cleveland. He allowed 8 hits and 6 runs and took the loss in a 13-5 defeat.
In that game, in the bottom of the first, the first four batters Santana faced in his career hit for the cycle:
- Grady Sizemore tripled
- Coco Crisp RBI double
- Travis Hafner single
- Ben Broussard 2-run HR
He was the 1st pitcher since the start of divisional play in 1969 to allow a "cycle" to the first 4 batters he faced in his career.
Santana entered the game 0-6 with a 4.98 ERA in 10 career starts against the Indians.
From Elias: On April 12, the Angels' Dan Haren threw a complete-game one-hitter vs the Indians. The last time teammates had a no-hitter and a 1-hitter vs same opponent the in same season was in 1972. Ferguson Jenkins (July 27, no-hitter) and Burt Hooton (April 16, 1-hitter) did it for the Cubs against the Phillies.
Ervin Santana had a Game Score of 94 in his no-hitter on Wednesday. That's tied for the highest Game Score this season. Both Game Scores of 94 have come against the Indians. Note that the game Verlander had a Game Score of 94 was NOT his no-hitter. [+]Highest Game Score

Note: Pitchers don't get credit for a no-hitter if they don't go at least 9 IP.
2 Angels pitchers threw 8 innings of no-hit ball vs the Dodgers in 2008 (Jered Weaver 6 IP, Jose Arredondo 2 IP) but lost the game 1-0.
That was the last time previous to today a team was not shut out, but didn't get a hit in a game.
In April 1992, Matt Young of the Red Sox no-hit the Indians in a 1-0 loss. Andy Hawkins did the same in a 4-0 loss to the White Sox in July 1990 [+]Did Not Allow Hit, Did Not Shut Out Opponent - Since 1990
