DETROIT AT NY YANKEES, POSTPONED (RAIN)

BRONX, New York (Ticker) -- Game Two of the American League
Division Series between the Detroit Tigers and New York Yankees
was postponed due to rain.

The game has been rescheduled for Thursday at 1:09 p.m. EST.

Slated to start at 8:19 p.m. EST, the second game of the ALDS
was delayed for about 1 hour, 40 minutes before finally being
called. Major League Baseball had hoped to start the game
around 10 p.m.

Scheduled starters, Detroit rookie Justin Verlander (17-9, 3.63
ERA) and New York 16-year veteran Mike Mussina (15-7, 3.51 ERA),
will pitch on Thursday.

New York won Tuesday's opener, 8-4. Game Three is Friday in
Detroit.
