Noah Syndergaard's day ends with a juggling catch by Yoenis Cespedes in the top of the sixth. That wasn't the only time the defense helped Syndergaard out. The Mets starter allowed three runs and it would have been more had Kelly Johnson's relay not nailed Matt Adams at the plate. The Cardinals made Syndergaard work. He cleared 100 pitches through five innings for the first time in his career.
