Trevor Story ties Jose Abreu's rookie record for home runs in April (10) in Rockies' 9-0 win over Diamondbacks.

The Mariners get one hit -- a Seth Smith home run -- and beat the Royals 1-0. The Royals go 0-for-11 with runners in scoring position, Leonys Martin crashes into the wall to catch the final out and Felix Hernandez ties Jamie Moyer for most wins in Mariners history. Oh, and there was a controversial call against the Royals in the ninth.

There were lots of boos for former Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp when he came to the plate in a key spot in the eighth inning at Dodger Stadium. Fully motivated, Kemp then delivered a 3-run home run off Dodgers reliever Chris Hatcher to give the Padres a 4-1 lead in the eighth inning.

Mets destroy Giants with 12-run inning

The Mets put up a franchise record 12 runs in the third inning, launching a 13-1 win over the Giants.

As expected, Red Sox have recalled infielder Marco Hernandez from Triple-A Pawtucket and optioned reliever Pat Light, thereby restoring the typical roster balance of 13 position players and 12 pitchers. Hernandez also gives manager John Farrell a left-handed bat off the plate.

Don't sell Trevor Story from your fantasy team just yet! He's homered again tonight, as has teammate Nolan Arenado. They're tied for the MLB lead with 10 home runs. One key for Story: As pitchers have started to pitch him away more often, he's drawn another walk, giving him five in four games, after walking just four times in his first 17 games. He still has a lot of swing-and-miss, but a good sign that he's not just a wild hacker up there.

Tigers pitcher Michael Fulmer, still drenched and reeking of beer after being doused in celebration with teammates, absolutely ecstatic after a 9-2 win against the Twins in his MLB debut: "It was exactly what I dreamt of."

It was fun for the Dodgers while it lasted. When San Diego scored a run in the fourth inning Friday, it ended a 32-inning scoreless streak against L.A., dating back to last season. It was tied for the Dodgers' sixth longest scoreless inning streak, by innings, against one team in club history.

VIDEO: Yoenis Cespedes reacts to delivering a grand slam and six RBIs in a 12-run third inning by the Mets against the Giants on Friday. Cespedes was making his first start since last Friday. He had delivered a pinch-hit game-tying three-run homer on Tuesday against Cincinnati in his lone other appearance in the past week.

Marlins' no-hit bid ends

Adam Conley got through 7 2/3 innings without allowing a hit, but was then pulled, and the bullpen did not finish the no-no when Jonathan Lucroy singled with one out in the 9th. Follow live

UPDATE: Jonathan Lucroy ends the Marlins' no-hit bid with a single to right field in the bottom of the 9th.

Tigers offense continues to roll. Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and Nick Castellanos all with solo home runs tonight against Minnesota. Not to be overlooked: Justin Upton quietly records his first multi-hit game in weeks. Could be a sign that things are starting to click for the scuffling outfielder.

David Wright played the full game on Friday night despite the blowout because he will have Saturday's game off. Wright was due to sit once this weekend, and Terry Collins wants him in the lineup on Sunday against a left-hander, Madison Bumgarner.

Marlins no-hit bid through 8

Adam Conley threw 7 2/3, 116 pitches and did not allow a hit. Jose Urena then came in and a batter reached on Urena's error, but no hit was given. Marlins have a 5-0 lead over Brewers. Follow live
