Worth noting, not every ortho surgeon tackles tough multi-ligament cases. Dan Cooper recently operated on Kyle Schwarber at Cubs request.

Jake Peavy had a terrible spring but everyone chalked it up to the fact that he usually has a bad spring. But his struggles have continued: He's gone tonight after giving up six runs in the third without getting an out. For the season, opponents are hitting .382 against him.

Carlos Rodon was cruising along without a shutout before the O's scored three in the fifth, but it wasn't all Rodon's fault: There was a walk, an error by Brett Lawrie, an infield single and Jimmy Rollins threw away a double play ball when his cleat stuck in the dirt. All runs were earned but Rodon's defense let him down.

The Nationals are off to a good start but just got swept by Phillies, scoring three runs in three games. Bryce Harper isn't getting much support outside of Daniel Murphy, with Anthony Rendon (who has no HRs and one RBI), Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth all sporting OBPs under .300. They're in St. Louis tonight, the start of a 10-game road trip that also includes the Royals and Cubs. We'll know a lot about them in 10 days.

Alex Rodriguez' second inning HR -- his 4th of the season and 691st of his career -- was also hit No. 3,082, moving him ahead of Cap Anson into 20th place on baseball's all-time list

The Dodgers had a brief closed-door meeting to address the team's recent struggles, but the meeting seemed more energetic than negative. When the clubhouse reopened, there was more energy, and the team projected an optimistic air than a somber one.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that in the wake of Dee Gordon's positive test for performance-enhancing substances the team asked questions but found there is no avenue for protesting the results of a four-game series against the Marlins. Gordon, who had appealed a positive test, had a major impact in the Marlins' sweep at Dodger Stadium this week.

Tigers ace Justin Verlander, who spoke out on Twitter earlier today in the wake of Dee Gordon's 80-game suspension for PED's, said he believes there is a general consensus among players that there should be more frequent testing and harsher penalties. "We want a clean game," he said. Also feels if a player has tested positive, they should not be allowed on the field potentially impacting the outcome of games.

The Cubs' run differential at +79 after 22 games. Only six teams had a run differential that high (or beyond) for the entire 2015 season.

Joe Girardi on Dee Gordon testing positive: "I'm surprised but I'm not. Now, Dee Gordon wouldn't have been a guy that I would have predicted, but it's disappointing. I don't think it's ever going to go away. I think the rewards are too great from a financial standpoint. "

No, you're not seeing things: That's a really small glove on Chris Davis' large left hand. To be exact, it's a 9.5-inch model, which is what your average Little Leaguer might use. The Orioles first baseman - whose uses a 12.5-inch game glove - sometimes wears the mini-mitt during warm-ups.

On This Day: Clemens strikes out 20

Thirty years ago today, Roger Clemens made history by becoming the first major league pitcher to strike out 20 batters in one game.
