Team is planning on having him make an additional rehab start and throw approximately 75 pitches, but that could change with injury, heavily-taxed pen etc. Asked about the starter vs. reliever debate, manager Brad Ausmus said: "I'm not sure really what his best role is." Despite Michael Pineda's recent struggles -- he got bombed again on Saturday by the Rays and his 6.92 ERA is the worst among MLB starters -- Joe Girardi said the possibility of removing him from the rotation hasn't been discussed. "We still believe in Michael," Girardi said. "We've seen Michael have success." As of now, Girardi said, the Yankees will remain on rotation, meaning Pineda will start Thursday against the Tigers in Detroit in a makeup of a game rained out in April.
