Kershaw looks to cap historic July

Clayton Kershaw brings his 0.27 ERA and 45 K's in four starts this month into tonight's start vs. the A's. Since earned runs became official in 1913, only two pitchers ever have had at least 50 K's and an ERA below 0.50 in a calendar month (Johan Santana, Nolan Ryan).

Diamondbacks show interest in Chapman

Arizona has talked with Cincinnati about acquiring LHP Aroldis Chapman, according to multiple reports. Since 2012, the closer has a 1.95 ERA with 414 K's in 231 innings. His fastball averages 99.6 mph.
